My twins were born in August. As a new mom I knew I was going to be busy, but I could never have imagined how busy. I made a decision before my girls were born to leave my Etsy Shop open. Selfishly, I wanted to salvage any remnant of who I used to be. Since that time I have often doubted whether that was the right decision. Especially in the early weeks…I couldn’t even get myself to the post office. I was forced to have my husband make runs for me.
My babies have gotten older (almost four months) and I have gotten a bit more hip to the game of parenting. I am capable of shipping my own orders again. So when I recently got a request for a custom order I decided to take it on. A woman wanted a scarf for her son, a Montreal Canadiens fan, for Christmas. My acceptance of the challenge did not come without making it clear to her that I had baby twins and it would take me longer than expected to complete her order. In fact, I told her I had no idea how long it would take. Luckily she was generous and willing to see if I could work it out.
So a few weeks ago I dusted off my sewing machine, plugged in the iron, and voilà…I was able to pull my free minutes together and get this project complete with plenty of time to spare before Christmas. As you are reading this I am on my way to the post office to get it shipped out. Aren’t you proud? I am. And if you are thinking you need a special order scarf for someone for Christmas I am confident that I have time for a few more. Contact me.
