You get to a certain age where you are going to wake up at 7:30 in the morning no matter what time you go to bed.
You’re going to get out of bed even if you drove to Munich and back the night before for a concert, ate spicy indian food, gorged yourself on naan, drank beer and tequila, and danced your heart out to three little girls absolutely ripping apart a concert stage.
Not only are you going to get out of bed, but you are going to feel the need to be productive. No lying on the couch all day eating pea soup and watching an entire season of Game of Thrones for you. There is creativity to be had. Careful now, nothing to creativily strenuous. We don’t want you cashing that one brain cell that seems to be functioning. We’ll let you settle on a new embroidery project.
Embroidery is like putting together a puzzle. It’s very slow, but that’s your speed today. It’s rewarding, it builds slowly, it’s addiciting, calming, and you’re confident you’ll complete it and have something to show for yourself today. A drawing of a chairlift (your favorite mode of transportation in the whole wide world) on fabric. The first embroidered of its kind…as far as you know.
Congratulations. You just made yourself a new hoodie hat.
Now go make yourself some ceasar salad and french fries, drink plenty of water, and go to bed early tonight.
Give yourself the day off tomorrow and go take one of those walks over the rolling hills that you love so much.
That is RAD!!! I’m also glad to hear that I’m not the only one who awakens at 7:30 after going to bed well past midnight… 😉
