Two weeks ago I had an insanely productive weekend. I’ve been meaning to share its accomplishments with you. In short, I couldn’t sleep. On sunday in particular; I woke up way too early, and had baked apple strudel from scratch, done yoga, decorated an apron, and finished a tote bag before 10:00am. Don’t ask what time I woke up. If I answer you’ll think I’m a freak. I know you were hoping I was going to say that my T-shirt rug is finished also. Sorry, it isn’t, and it won’t be anytime soon. I’ve been diligently chipping away at it, but it doesn’t look much different than the last time I took a photo of it.
No use crying over that rug.
Let’s celebrate the accomplishments!
I think I’ve put this War Eagle patch on just about any generic article of clothing by now. It looks pretty good on an apron though, don’t you think? I’ve been making them for some of the girls that have husbands in Phil’s company. We have started hosting lunch in the hangar once a month. Now we get to serve lunch wearing these! Thanks Florida Scarf!
Do you remember a while back, when I went shopping at the remnant store in downtown Ansbach? And I found a totally killer scrap of carpet, and I really wanted to make something with it?
Well, I finally did it!
I made my very own Carpet Bag…….
Pretty sweet, huh? That 80’s sailing patch is a nice touch, right?
I’m proud of this bag and I can’t wait to travel with it.
It took me all weekend to complete this. For future reference, when the pattern directions say you can complete the project in an hour; that means an hour if you know what you are doing. If you don’t it’s going to take you five hours because you are going to cut the pattern out like a snail, and then you are going to have to rip out a few seams and sew them again, and again. Eventually however you will finish….and the bag will be a smash!
You never cease to amaze me! I wonder if you’re the only person in the world with a rad carpet duffle bag? I’m willing to bet you are! 😉
